Justin Fields has been on fire over his past two games, but the Chicago Bears quarterback appeared to get banged up on Sunday.
Fields appeared to injure his right hand during the Bears third-quarter drive on Sunday. After taking a sack from Vikings pass rusher Danielle Hunter, Fields went to the sideline while holding his right hand.
He was hurt but not many know what happened until after the game.
The fourth-year signal-caller then went into the blue medical tent on Chicago’s sideline, where his injury was presumably evaluated.
It turns out he had dislocated his thumb, popped it back in, and attempted to play more in the game but he could not grip the ball.
“Breaking: Bears QB Justin Fields dislocated his thumb today, popped it back in and he tried to play but was unable to grip ball. X-rays were negative but because of dislocation will need MRI tomorrow to find out full severity of damage,” Jay Glazer reported.

After spending time in the tent, Fields eventually made his way to the Bears’ locker room with a towel over his hand. The Bears initially announced Fields was questionable to return with a hand injury, but he was soon ruled out.
Fields had completed six of 10 attempts for 58 yards and one interception before departing. He’d also rushed eight times for 46 yards.
The Bears lost after finally winning a game last week for the first time in almost a year.
