Despite starting quarterback Justin Fields missing the game due to thumb issues, the Chicago Bears did just enough to secure a 16-13 win over the Carolina Panthers.
Fields still made a strong statement as he stood on the sidelines.
Fields was seen smiling with some of his teammates during the fourth quarter of Thursday’s game but then he could be seen saying something that was unmistakeable.
Some fans thought that Fields said “Roll Tide” on the sideline.
Young played college football at Alabama, who famously used the slogan “roll tide.” Fields and Ohio State lost the 2020 National Championship game to Alabama, 52-24. Maybe Fields finally got his chance to enjoy a win over an Alabama QB, even though he didn’t play.
Fields was listed as doubtful before he was eventually ruled out as he continues to recover from a dislocated thumb that he suffered in Week 6. Rookie signal-caller Tyson Bagent started his fourth straight game as he tossed for 162 yards through the air and added another 12 on the ground.
