The Baltimore Ravens are expected search hard to bring in a true No. 1 wide receiver this offseason that can help Lamar Jackson advance deeper into the postseason. Marquise “Hollywood” Brown would be better suited as the No. 2 WR target.
That means the team would need to make a big splash in free agency or trading for a WR.
Over the course of the 2020 season, rumors have swirled that the Falcons might be looking to move QB Matt Ryan and WR Julio Jones. Bleacher Report took a look at some realistic trades that could happen this offseason and they had Jones headed to B-More for a first-round pick.
“Julio Jones seems like a moveable piece. Turning 32 in February, he’s an aging star who missed seven games because of a nagging hamstring injury this season. Without him for nearly half of the campaign, Ryan’s passing numbers remained steady. He matched his touchdown total from last season (26) and led the league in completions for the second consecutive term. Atlanta’s aerial attack ranked fifth leaguewide.
The Falcons could move forward with Ryan, wideout Calvin Ridley and tight end Hayden Hurst as key pieces to the passing attack and exchange Jones for a first-rounder in a reboot.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson doesn’t have a dominant lead wide receiver. With Brown as the No. 2 or 3 receiving option behind Jones and Andrews, the Ravens passing offense could finish as a top-10 unit.”
Jones struggled with injury issues in 2020 and only ended up catching 51 passes for 771 yards and three touchdowns.
Joining the Ravens would give Jones at the age of 31 a fighting chance to get back into the playoffs and possibly the Super Bowl.
