Every April 1st, social media is the victim of countless fake reports, as everyone gives it their best shot at some April Fools humor. Today is no different.
In an attempt to get his April Fools on, former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman took to Twitter to tell everyone that he was joining longtime buddy Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The post consists of one of those classic NFL breaking news graphics announcing the move, along with the caption, “Onto the next chapter.” However, those paying extra close attention will also notice the “April Fools” in small print at the bottom right of the image.
Of course, this isn’t the first time that Edelman has had social media believing he could be on the verge of a comeback. A few weeks ago, the internet was losing their minds over footage of the Super Bowl LIII MVP catching passes from Tom Brady.
So what are people saying about Edelman’s latest tease at a comeback? It appears as though many were having none of his prank.
