Former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman famously dated the daughter of Jerry Rice back in high school. However, not many knew about the information surrounding what he used to do back in the day that has garnered a ton of reactions online.
Edelman dated Rice’s daughter, Jaqui, in high school and took her to the prom.
“My dad wasn’t always the nicest to him,” Jaqui Rice back in 2019. “But, I mean, I guess that’s understandable because he’s my dad, you know?”
In 2023, the retired wide receiver is now speaking about dating Jaqui and revealing that he used to do something when Jerry wasn’t around.
“I remember the first time I came over and Jerry came out with his chain on, no shirt, six packed up and just gave me a head nod,: he said. “And that was like the last time we talked in like two years. It was scary.
“But I’ll tell you one thing when Jerry wasn’t there, I was putting on his Super Bowl rings and everything.”
Edelman played 12 seasons for the New England Patriots and recorded 620 receptions for 6,822 yards and 36 touchdowns while catching passes. In 19 playoff games, he caught 118 passes for 1,442 yards and five scores.

Last year, he revealed during an appearance on 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston that he has been approached by three teams about returning to the NFL this season.
“There’s been some calls, and I’ve turned them down,” Edelman said.
He added: “The situation would have to be in New England with a New England team that’s a contender.”
Edelman hung up the cleats after he failed his physical before the 2021 season and had his contract terminated by the Patriots.
While Edelman doesn’t plan on returning this season, it’s hard to completely rule out his potential return to the NFL in 2023, especially considering teams are still interested in him.
