Over the past few months, Ben Roethlisberger has taken a bunch of shots to his character as a person and as a teammate from former players and recently former teammates Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown.
Following the many swipes from those two, the Steelers’ remaining No. 1 receiver has come to the polarizing veteran’s defense.
JuJu-Smith Schuster led the Steelers in both receiving yards and receptions in 2018, and even earned the team MVP award that reportedly started the rift between Brown and the organizaton.
On Monday, JuJu took to Twitter and stated how he feels “blessed” to play with Roethlisberger.
JuJu’s tweet comes a week after New York Jets running back Le’Veon Bell stated his decision not to return to Pittsburgh was partly due to his relationship with Big Ben.

“Ben wants to win his way, and that’s tough to play with. Ben won a Super Bowl, but he won when he was younger. Now he’s at this stage where he tries to control everything, and [the team] let him get there.
He adds: “So if I’m mad at a player and I’m not throwing him the ball—if I’m not throwing A.B. the ball and I’m giving JuJu [Smith-Schuster] all the shine or Jesse [James] or Vance [McDonald] or whoever it is, and you know consciously you’re making your other receiver mad but you don’t care—it’s hard to win that way.”
What Brown had to say:
“[That’s] the type of guy he is. He feels like he’s the owner. Bro, you threw the [expletive] to the D-lineman. How the [expletive] am I going to run a better route? You need to give me a better ball.”
