It appears that JuJu Smith-Schuster may be headed out of Pittsburgh For the first time in his career.
Most of the football world is focused on the upcoming Super Bowl LVI matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams. However, free agency is right around the corner as well.
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster should draw a fair bit of interest when free agency begins on March 16. Though he missed much of the season with a shoulder injury, Smith-Schuster battled back to start in Pittsburgh’s playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Smith-Schuster took to Instagram late last month and signaled a potential end to his career in Pittsburgh with a picture of his packed car with the ominous message, “It’s been real Pitt!”
Smith-Schuster signed a one-year, $8 million contract last offseason to return to the Steelers. He recorded 15 catches for 129 yards in five games this season before the injury.
He made areturn for the Steelers playoff game against the Chiefs where he recorded 5 passes for 26 yards on 8 targets in a 42-21 playoff loss. That very well may have been his final game with the franchise.
