JuJu Smith-Schuster had an interesting answer to a question of why the offense was clicking on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.
In a 44-23 win, Smith-Schuster had his best game of the year as he hauled in seven receptions, 124 yards and a touchdown. The 25-year old receiver said the chemistry between the new receivers started in the offseason when they all got together in Texas and in training camp.
What really helped was apparently playing Warzone on Call of Duty together.
“I’m going to tell you what got us the chemistry we needed (for) this game,” said Smith-Schuster, who had seven catches for a season-high 124 yards. “I think it was Friday night — me, Pat, Travis and MVS were playing Call of Duty together. We were playing Warzone.”
“I don’t play all the time, but some of those guys play,” quarterback Patrick Mahomes said. “I had a free night on Friday, so I told them I would get one for a little while.”

Smith-Schuster also brought up playing Madden 23 when talking about how Mahomes is an X-Factor. The X-Factor setting in Madden enhances the play of star players to help them take over the game.
“You ever played Madden and the X-Factor is on the quarterback? Bruh they had that on Pat today and it was like fire.”
“He’s on his X-Factor let me try to get on mine.”
Mahomes passed for 25-of-34 for 423 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Valdes-Scantling caught three passes for 111 yards, and Kelce had six receptions for 98 yards.
Those numbers are even more insane against a 49ers team that had a top 10 defense.
