Just a few years ago, the Washington Redskins signed Josh Norman and made him the richest cornerback in the entire league after he had some spectacular play with the Carolina Panthers.
Things have only soured in the years following and it culminated in Norman being benched towards the end of the 2019 season and ultimately led to his release today.
Per Garafolo, the move will save the Redskins $9.5 million, as Norman was due to make $12.5 million in 2020 and will count $3 million against the cap due to dead money on his deal.
Shortly after the news dropped, Norman took to Twitter and reacted with happiness.
Norman clearly wants his next squad to be good enough to fight for a Super Bowl, something the Skins were never close to doing during his time there.
