We have already seen two NFL head coaches lose their job this season. And it appears as though a third could be playing for his job today.
The Carolina Panthers’ Matt Rhule was the first to go. Then we saw one of the most bizarre scenarios unfold earlier this week when Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich was fired and replaced with an unqualified Jeff Saturday.
And now, according to reports, if Saturday and those Colts somehow figure things out in less than a week and upset their opponents on the road today, it could result in another head coach getting canned.
According to ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio, a loss today to the Colts at home could very well cost Las Vegas Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels his job.

It would still be highly unlikely for McDaniels to get the heave-ho during the season. But he could be in grave danger of getting fired after 2022 ends, if he loses on Sunday.
While Florio doesn’t believe McDaniels will be fired during the season, we probably wouldn’t count out such a scenario given the recent form of the Raiders.

Despite entering the season with high expectations following the Davante Adams trade, the Raiders have been one of the league’s biggest disappointments. Not only do they enter week 10 with a 2-6 record, but in their last two games they were shut out by the Saints, before blowing a 17-0 lead to the Jaguars.
If they can’t beat a Colts team with an inexperienced head coach and a first-time play-caller today, McDaniels may want to start updating that resume of his.
