Sports fans probably haven’t needed coffee these last two mornings as they woke up to the news of the James Harden trade on Tuesday and Josh McDaniels’ firing this Wednesday.
The Raiders made the call in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, with Adam Schefter reporting that McDaniels, as well as GM Dave Ziegler, had been let go.
“After much thought about what the Raiders need to move forward, I have decided to part ways with Josh and Dave,” a statement from team owner Mark Davis reads. “I want to thank them both for their hard work and wish them and their families nothing but the best.”
Davis would give no further comment after he was contacted by ESPN.
Social media went wild after most fans got out of bed and read what they must have perceived to be great news, based on their reactions. The Raiders are 3-5 afterall.
