With Josh Jacobs seemingly uninterested in signing the franchise tag with the Las Vegas Raiders, it’s looking more and more likely that the team will end up either trading the Pro Bowl running back, or flat-out releasing him.
If that’s the case, there will be plenty of suitors lining up for the 25-year-old running back. Five of those suitors were recently listed by CBSSports, and 31 other NFL teams might not like who they see at the top.
The Philadelphia Eagles already own one of the league’s most dangerous ground games. D’Andre Swift, Rashad Penny and Kenneth Gainwell are expected to hold down the running back depth chart, with Jalen Hurts also providing a ton of yards on the ground from the quarterback position.
But now it’s believed that the Eagles are very much in play for Jacobs, as they topped CBS’s list of potential destinations for the league’s leading rusher from 2022.
After the Eagles comes the Bears, Dolphins, Broncos and Cardinals, all in that order.
While the Eagles have been mentioned in several running back rumors over the summer, they’re already rostering three very capable backs. It would be hard to see Jacobs fitting in their backfield, unless they’re willing to cut ties with a guy like Swift or Penny.

CBSSports seems to believe that’s a very real possibility. I guess we’ll just have to wait to see how it all plays out.
