One of the top AFC teams reportedly reached out to the Las Vegas Raiders for star running back and reigning rushing champion Josh Jacobs.
According to a report from Vic Tafur of The Athletic, the Miami Dolphins “inquired about” a potential trade for the two-time Pro Bowler, but the Raiders informed them that the 25-year-old “is not available”.
Jacobs hasn’t been with the Raiders ever since the two sides failed to reach an agreement on a long-term extension back in July. But according to Tafur, Las Vegas “expects him to report before” Week 1, and they aren’t planning to take the franchise tag off of him.
While Jacobs appears poised to start the season in Sin City, there’s another star RB and former rushing champion on the trade block. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Indianapolis Colts gave Jonathan Taylor permission to look for a trade earlier this week.

It’s been a tough offseason for big-named running backs this year. Aside from Jacobs, fellow star RBs Saquon Barkley (New York Giants) and Tony Pollard (Dallas Cowboys) also didn’t land long-term extensions after receiving the franchise tag from their respective clubs.
Four-time Pro Bowler Dalvin Cook went unsigned for two months following his release from the Minnesota Vikings until finally signing with the New York Jets last week. Two-time rushing champion Ezekiel Elliott was released by Dallas early in the offseason, but he only landed a deal with the New England Patriots last week.
