Raiders fans and fantasy football owners alike are rejoicing over the news of star running back Josh Jacobs rejoining the Las Vegas Raiders after signing a one-year extension with the team earlier today.
Jacobs had been holding out on the team after getting hit with the franchise tag, but now that the two sides have come to terms on a deal, the 2022 rushing champion is officially back. And he made sure everyone knew about it with two simple words on ‘X.’
“I’m back.”
Jacobs’ new deal with the Raiders will pay him up to $12-million. It’s a decent raise over the $10.091 he was set to make under the franchise tag.
The 25-year-old former first round pick is coming off a career year that saw him lead the NFL in rushing yards, with 1,653.

Jacobs is expected to be a big part of a Raiders offense that will look quite different in 2023. In addition to the star back, Vegas will also have Davante Adams coming back. And fellow wideout Hunter Renfrow remains on the roster as well, for the time being. The Raiders did lose two key pieces, however, in quarterback Derek Carr and tight end Darren Waller. And they’ve replaced them with Jimmy Garoppolo and Jakobi Meyers.
Will that be enough to improve on their disappointing 2022 campaign that saw them finish 6-11? We’re about to find out.
