The Las Vegas Raiders will officially have their star running back for the start of the 2023 NFL season.
According to reports, the Raiders and Josh Jacobs have agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension. The deal is said to be worth up to $12-million, replacing the $10.091-million franchise tag he was set to play on.
It was previously believed that Jacobs would hold out for the start of the season as he and the Raiders were believed to be far apart in their negotiations. Rumors also had suggested that the Raiders could ship Jacobs to the Miami Dolphins, who have been busy in the running back market this summer.
Jacobs has spend his entire career with the Raiders after being drafted by the team with the 24th pick of the 2019 NFL Draft. In 2022, he had a career year for Vegas, leading the NFL with 1,653 rushing yards to go along with 400 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.
