There was a reason the New England Patriots gave up a second-round pick for Mohamed Sanu in the early morning hours on Wednesday. Their receiving corps had taken a big hit as they would later place Josh Gordon on injured reserve, effectively ending his time on the field in 2019.
The 28-year-old Gordon suffered a knee injury during the team’s Week 6 game against the New York Giants and he was unable to practice the following week and missed the team’s Week 7 game against the New York Jets.
The news of him being placed on IR seemed to be a shock to him, because he would take to Instagram and post ‘interesting’ along with an emoji to the shocking news.
If Gordon wasn’t aware the team would be making this news beforehand, then it may speak to a bigger issue regarding Gordon and the team that will ultimately lead to him never playing for the franchise again.
