Following the victory over the New York Giants, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was seen walking to the X-ray room at Highmark Stadium. That was cause for major concern among the team and fan base.
Allen had fallen on his shoulder several times throughout the game after being tackled by Giants defenders. In his postgame press conference, Allen confirmed that this was the reason why he got an X-ray and that it was, in fact, for his throwing shoulder.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott said all scans on Allen were normal so far and that “things are heading in a good direction.”
NFL insider Ian Rapaport released a major update the following day that stated Josh Allen would have more scans and tests on his right shoulder, but noted he did not have a major injury.
Allen took quite a bit of hard hits on Sunday night including one that required a trip to the Bills’ blue medical tent. The team’s medical staff checked Allen out for a possible concussion as his head hit the turf, but he was cleared and returned to the game.
Allen injured his arm last season, leading to an adjustment in his throwing motion. It’s unclear if this injury is a reaggravation of that one.
