The Buffalo Bills were taking the field with heavy hearts today, as they were facing off against the New England Patriots. Not only was it their first game since Damar Hamlin’s brutal injury, but the Bills were also playing for second place and a chance to avoid any road games in the postseason.
They would beat their division rivals, 35-23, eliminating New England from the postseason in the process. And after the game, Bills quarterback Josh Allen reflected on just how emotional a game it was for him and his teammates.
Allen described the scene at Highmark Stadium for today’s game as “surreal” during his postgame interview. He then sent a message to Hamlin, who was watching the game from his hospital bed at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
“Love you, brother. We can’t wait to see you. Go Bills.”

The Bills will surely be playing out the rest of the season for Hamlin, with hopes of earning a ring for their fallen teammate. They have four more wins to go.
