NFL fans are going off on Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen for a dramatic flop that was still good enough to draw a penalty.
In the second quarter of the Bills’ road contest against the New England Patriots, Allen drew a roughing the passer penalty following a hit by cornerback Jack Jones.
As you can see in the clip below, it was a clean hit into the shoulder area by Jones. There is no way that this should have been a penalty, but the refs fell for Allen’s flop and penalized the second-year corner for roughing the passer.

At the end of the day, blame falls on the refs for buying that. Quarterbacks know that they’ll almost always get the benefit of the doubt if they can perform an Oscar-worthy flop, which is exactly what Allen did.
