There’s a ridiculous and disturbing conspiracy theory going around involving Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who continues to recover more than three weeks after suffering cardiac arrest during the club’s Week 17 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Hamlin, who was released from the hospital two weeks ago, was in attendance for the Bills’ AFC Divisional Round tilt against the Bengals at Highmark Stadium. Some people on the internet have come up with an outrageous theory that the real Hamlin is deceased, and that a “body double” took his place on Sunday.
Appearing on “Kyle Brandt’s Basement”, Bills quarterback Josh Allen had a simple and clever response to the Hamlin body double conspiracy theory.
“Yeah, that’s stupid,” Allen said, noting that Hamlin was with the team before and after the game. “Stop that (expletive).”
Hamlin went into cardiac arrest after making a tackle on Cincinnati wide receiver Tee Higgins. Thankfully, medical personnel quickly managed to restore his heartbeat before he was taken away in a hospital.
The Bengals defeated the Bills 27-10 in the Divisional Round, advancing to the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs for the second straight year.
