While all the attention was on Patrick Mahomes after Sunday’s game, Josh Allen decided to be the bigger man.
Despite defeating the Chiefs on the road in Week 14, Bills quarterback Josh Allen found much of the talk surrounding Chiefs star Travis Kelce’s last-minute catch-and-lateral to receiver Kadarius Toney for what would’ve been a go-ahead touchdown on their last drive.
Instead, the play was called back for offensive offsides on Toney, eventually leading to the game-ending three plays later. Mahomes could then be seen being held back by teammates as he yelled at a ref. He even complained to Allen as they greeted each other on the field after the game.
Allen could have been angry after this happened, but he kept his cool in that moment and proceeded to do so after the game.
When asked about the wacky sequence post-game, Allen made sure to praise Kelce’s heads-up play in his own unique way.
“That’s the ballsiest play I’ve ever seen in my entire life,” Allen told NFL Network’s James Palmer. “That was unbelievable.”

If the play had stood, this would have given the Bills the ball back with only 1 minute and 12 seconds remaining on the clock. And it would have given the Chiefs a four-point lead, forcing Buffalo to get a touchdown if they wanted to win.
Allen proved himself to be a true leader at that moment, focusing on his team and the hard-fought win they had just earned rather than all the drama.
On a night when Buffalo was in search of a much-needed victory, Allen did just enough to make sure that it happened.
