Buffalo Bills star safety Jordan Poyer has revealed Aaron Rodgers introduced him to a life-changing psychedelic.
The New York Jets quarterback is known for his experimental tendencies and even went a different route with his Achilles surgery after rupturing said tendon at the start of the season.
He’s also known to be an advocate for ayahuasca, which is a plant-based medicinal brew that induces hallucinations.
Speaking to former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III on the ‘RG3 AndTHeOnes’ podcast, Poyer revealed having tried it out on Rodgers’ recommendation. He credits the brew with helping him discover who he really is.
“I know a lot of people say Aaron Rodgers is crazy… there are thousands of ways to heal but Aaron Rodgers was right in what he was talking about in this medicine,” he said. “A lot of people wrote him off, a lot of people think he’s crazy, a lot think he’s just off the wire, but I was interested, so I went.”
Poyer also described his struggles with alcohol, admitting he needed help as he was close to losing his family, and sought counseling from Alcoholics Anonymous.

“I was this close to losing my family, I’m talking my wife, my daughter,” he revealed. “I look (at alcohol) as poison now, why would I put poison into my body, why would I do it to myself, to my mind?”
It appears it’s been all about the As for Poyer – Alcoholics Anonymous, Aaron, and Ayahuasca.
