The Green Bay Packers are confident that quarterback Jordan Love is ascending in his development as a third-year player.
Friday night’s preseason game against the New Orleans Saints was the best individual performance of Jordan Love’s three-year NFL career. The Green Bay Packers quarterback didn’t force the ball and either created big plays or presented opportunities for big plays for his pass-catchers.
The box score just doesn’t tell the story. Love finished the contest completing 12 of 24 passes for 113 yards, one touchdown, and a passer rating of 77.3.
Through two games, Love is 25-of-48 for 289 yards, three touchdowns, and three picks.
However, The Leap’s Peter Bukowski made note that his teammates are kind of screwing him over big time. They have already dropped nine of his pass attempts. That’s four more than any runner-up.
He has also suffered from the second-highest drop rate this preseason.

Aaron Rodgers called out Green Bay’s young wide receivers earlier this week as he tld reporters that they’ve “got to be way more consistent.”
Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur praised Jordan Love for being “light years ahead” of where he was last year.
“I know the numbers don’t necessarily reflect probably how I feel,” LaFleur said after Friday’s game, per team reporter Mike Spofford. “He stood in the pocket and was throwing on rhythm. Unfortunately again we had too many drops.”
In the 2020 NFL Draft, the Packers traded up to select Love out of Utah State. It was quite obvious that the move was made as a succession plan in case Rodgers were to leave the team in the future. Even though Rodgers is locked in on a new contract, he has spoken publicly about retirement.
