Heading into the 2023 offseason, the Green Bay Packers still weren’t sure whether Jordan Love was their long-term solution at quarterback. Once Aaron Rodgers demanded a trade, they would have to find out if he was their guy whether they liked it or not.
The Green Bay Packers‘ 2023 campaign ended with a Divisional Round loss to the San Francisco 49ers, but Saturday night’s defeat won’t stop the team from recognizing Jordan Love’s outstanding debut campaign.
Now, he is looking at a massive payday to place him among the NFL’s highest-paid quarterbacks.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter noted Sunday on SportsCenter that Love isn’t eligible to sign a new contract until May.
“But he’s going to want to get a deal done, they’re going to want to get a deal done,” Schefter reported. “And if and when they both get together to get that deal done in May, or shortly thereafter, it is expected to make him one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the game because that’s the way that he played and they’re going to want to lock him up and make sure that he’s not leaving Green Bay.”
Love finished second in the NFL in touchdown passes (32), fifth in passing efficiency, and ninth in QBR while leading Green Bay to nine regular-season wins and a Wild Card rout of the Dallas Cowboys.

Love was excellent in 2023, but it was one season. The Packers might not be yet comfortable making him the league’s most expensive QB.
Love is under contract through 2024.
