Jordan Love wasn’t able to do enough to get the Green Bay Packers to the NFC Championship Game, but he did do enough to convince everyone (at least for the time being) that the Pack have their new franchise quarterback.
That was always the plan when the team took Love with the 26th overall pick in 2020. And if Love does turn out to be the real deal, he’ll continue a tradition that has seen the Packers seamlessly transition from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers to Love, over the course of the last 32 years.
Being named in the same conversation as either of his predecessors is an honor…although, I’m guessing Love probably wasn’t crazy about the Brett Favre comparisons he was receiving on Saturday night.
After Love threw the game-ending interception that sealed the 49ers’ 24-21 Divisional round win over the Packers, everyone couldn’t help but point out the similarities between that throw, and Favre’s season-ending interception from 14 years ago — during the NFC Championship Game between the Saints and Favre’s Vikings.

In all fairness to Love, he had to make something happen with his team trailing by 3 points and in desperate need of a big play. Favre, on the other hand, already had his team in field-goal range with the score tied.
All-in-all, I don’t think the Packers or their fans could have asked for much more from Jordan Love during his first full season as an NFL starting quarterback.
