An AFC East side is reportedly considering a move for disgruntled running back Jonathan Taylor, with the Indianapolis Colts granting him permission to seek a trade, per ESPN and CBS NFL insider Josina Anderson.
The Colts held a stance on Taylor for several weeks, indicating he was going nowhere. But it’s now understood that they’re looking for a first-round pick in exchange, though they would settle for multiple picks which equate to that.
Taylor, who suffered a back injury while working out on his own in Arizona, was a candidate for the non-football injury list. He’s currently rehabbing from an ankle surgery he had in January but insists his back is fine.
The star RB has been in and out of the team’s facility because of treatment, plus he’s reported to be dealing with a personal issue. However, owner Jim Irsay claimed the 24-year-old was back with his teammates while speaking during the Colts’ preseason game against the Chicago Bears on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins are weighing up a move after missing out on Dalvin Cook and will at least explore a trade for Taylor, per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Miami still has a great rotation at the position with Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson, who averaged a combined 4.8 yards per carry last season. They can also call on rookie De’Von Achane.
Taylor would immediately become the team’s primary option at RB and acquiring him could give them the edge in the AFC East.
