After sitting out the first four weeks of the season, the Indianapolis Colts can now activate star running back Jonathan Taylor off the PUP list. And it appears as though they’ll do just that.
There are plenty of questions surrounding the former Pro Bowl running back, from his injury to his desire to remain in Indy. And while we still don’t know much about the latter, we are learning that Taylor is now fully healthy and the team expects him to be present at practice on Wednesday.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Colts will open up the 21-day practice window for Taylor this week. They are still open to trading him if the right offer comes along, and while there are no current offers on the table, several teams are still believed to be interested in the 24-year-old superstar.
However, as Rapoport notes, the Colts’ main “focus is getting the 2021 NFL rushing champ back on the practice field and getting him ready to play.”
Rapoport also notes that the team will likely have to do something about Taylor’s current contract if they ever want to see him wearing their jersey during a game again. That scenario is not out of the question, and it’s even been reported that the Colts have not yet ruled out the possibility of having J.T. in uniform for their week 5 game against the Titans.
