The Miami Dolphins are rumored to have held talks with the Indianapolis Colts over a trade for Jonathan Taylor.
The Colts have given the running back permission to seek a trade this offseason and the Dolphins are thought to be among the favorites to land him after missing out on Dalvin Cook.
Indy is after a first-round pick in exchange for the star RB but it’s understood that they would accept multiple picks equating to such. According to the rumors, the Dolphins’ conversations with the Colts have revolved around a package including players and picks.
Colts owner Jim Irsay was initially unwilling to let Taylor leave but has relaxed his stance and is now open to entertaining trade talks.
The player has spent a lot of time away from the team as he’s rehabbing from ankle surgery undergone in January. He is also believed to have suffered a back injury while working out on his own, though he insists his back is fine.
Irsay claimed Taylor was with the team when the Colts played the Chicago Bears in a preseason fixture on Saturday.
