The Miami Dolphins are said to still be confident they’ll land Jonathan Taylor after making an offer that was rejected by the Indianapolis Colts.
The two teams are still involved in talks, with the Colts keen on receiving a first-round pick in exchange for the All-Pro running back.
The NFL Notifications X account quoted the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson in stating that the team reckons their proposal was a “reasonable” one, adding that they aren’t prepared to improve the offer.
Jackson would call them out to point out that he never said the Dolphins wouldn’t up their bid, but the account claimed that the second bit was their own information.

Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears are understood to be among teams looking to acquire the disgruntled RB, although none of the interested franchises are believed to have met the Colts’ demands for a first-round pick or kind.
Taylor already owns a home in Miami and trains there during the offseason. Per a source, he would be happy with a trade to the Dolphins, though there are other teams he would be open to playing for.
The player is set to earn $4.3 million in 2023, the final year of his rookie season. He wants out of Indy as he hasn’t been offered a new deal and has been given permission to seek a trade.
The Colts are said to be intent on trading him before Tuesday. However, former Dolphins exec Mike Tannenbaum asserts a trade is unlikely to happen by Tuesday.
