There was a lot said about Colts running back Jonathan Taylor over the last few months, but Taylor has finally decided to speak up for himself this week.
Taylor, who is in the final year of his four-year rookie contract, had become increasingly frustrated with the Colts’ unwillingness to have discussions about a new deal. The All-Pro running back’s relationship with the Colts deteriorated after training camp opened and it seemed like a trade was coming.
Taylor made it clear he is “committed” to the Indianapolis Colts.
“If somebody wasn’t committed, they wouldn’t be here,” Taylor told reporters Thursday. “I’m here.”
He also stated that he is healthy following off-season ankle surgery and isn’t worried about his contract status with the season ongoing.
Taylor is now eligible to come off PUP. He has reportedly recovered from the ankle injury. The Colts opened a 21-day practice period for Taylor on Wednesday.

His latest comments seem to indicate he is ready to go for a team that is 2-2 and could use his talent on offense. In his place, the team has used Zack Moss who has racked up 280 yards and one touchdown on 66 carries.
Every team in the AFC South is 2-2, so there is an opportunity for the Colts to win this wide-open division.
This is the final year of Taylor’s contract.
