Disgruntled Indianapolis Colts’ star running back Jonathan Taylor will be eligible to return from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list next week, making him eligible to debut on Oct. 8.
Taylor requested a trade from the Colts two months ago following a meeting with owner Jim Irsay, after it was made clear that an extension for the 2021 rushing champion wasn’t on the table. The Colts placed Taylor on the PUP list ahead of Week 1, automatically sidelining him for at least four games.
In an update on the Taylor trade front, Destin Adams of A to Z Sports reports that there are seven teams who’ve “expressed interest in” the 24-year-old. According to Taylor, those teams are the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Commanders.
The Dolphins and Packers were both previously linked to Taylor. It was reported that Indy sought standout receivers Jaylen Waddle and Christian Watson from the Dolphins and Packers, respectively.
As great as Taylor is, there was never a chance that they’d land a top young wideout for a player that plays a devaluing position. Taylor isn’t the only star RB that frustratingly failed to secure a long-term deal this past offseason.

A healthy Taylor can be the ultimate difference-maker for a team looking to bolster its ground game. There should be no shortage of interested teams leading up to this year’s trade deadline.
