The Indianapolis Colts may be close to finding a trade partner for star running back Jonathan Taylor.
Stephen D. Daniels of Miami Sports Music claims to have heard from a reliable source that the Miami Dolphins are in Indianapolis to see Taylor take a physical. Daniels hears the trade compensation will be second and seventh-round picks.
Daniels also noted that he’s not a football insider, so take this rumor with a grain of salt since nothing is confirmed at this time.
Last month, Taylor requested a trade from the Colts following a meeting with team owner Jim Irsay. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Colts recently gave the 24-year-old Taylor permission to eye a trade.

The 2021 rushing champion is entering the last season of his rookie deal. Taylor led the NFL in both rushing yards (1,811) and rushing touchdowns (18) that year, and many believe he would have garnered MVP consideration if the Colts managed to squeak into the postseason.
Even though he missed six games last year, Taylor still recorded 861 rushing yards and four rushing scores to go along with 28 receptions for 143 yards. This put him at over 1,000 yards of offense for the second straight year.
Miami hasn’t had a 1,000-yard rusher since 2016, when Jay Ajayi reached the mark. The team’s lead RB is 31-year-old Raheem Mostert, who rushed for 891 yards last season.
