A video of Jon Gruden putting a wide receiver through his paces has fans calling for the former NFL head coach to be given another job.
Gruden was exiled from the league after an investigation citing emails sent between 2011 and 2018 showed he had used racist, misogynistic, and homophobic slurs. But he returned this offseason in some capacity, with the New Orleans Saints bringing him in as a consultant.
A video of the 59-year-old giving instructions to social media personality Routegod during a workout with free agent quarterback Carson Wentz has gone viral. And now, some fans want to see him back in the league.

So Wentz has been working with Gruden in a bid to land an NFL contract ahead of the 2023 season, with ESPN’s Adam Schefter reporting that the former Eagles, Colts, and Commanders quarterback “has been spending time in Tampa, throwing and studying film with former NFL head coach Jon Gruden.”
Schefter noted that Wentz is keen on playing next season and is looking for the right situation. Whether or not Gruden’s involvement is helpful remains to be seen as the former Raiders coach is not exactly popular in NFL circles nowadays.
There’s been nothing concrete in terms of reports indicating interest in Wentz since the QB’s release in February either. But he could get a job as a backup somewhere in the NFL by the time the season begins.
