Jon Gruden hasn’t said much of nothing since he was basically forced to resign as Raiders head coach almost two weeks ago.
Andrea Kremer, who recently profiled Raiders owner Mark Davis for HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, stated a producer recently cold-called Gruden.
“Maggie Burbank, who produced the story that we just did on Mark Davis, she actually called Gruden and he picked up the phone, much to I think her surprise,” Kremer said. “And he’s still in Las Vegas. . . . He says he’s letting the dust settle. He said, ‘People who know me know what I stand for for 58 years. I have a resume of 58 years.’ He said, ‘The truth will come out.’ It’s certainly cryptic.”
Jon Gruden has basically been ostracized from the National Football League as the Tampa Bay Bucs removed him from their ring of honor and Skechers parted ways with him.
He is not likely to ever receive a second chance in the league or on sports TV shows after his emails showed him using abusive language that disrespected gay people, women, and Black people. The emails exhibited Gruden using racist, misogynistic and homophobic language.
The initial investigation — which was aimed at examining multiple allegations, including sexual harassment, surrounding the Washington Football Team — unearthed the 58-year-old coach’s offensive messaged after the league looked through roughly 650,000 emails. But only Gruden’s have been released thus far.
One thinks Gruden may be ready to take everybody down with him.
