NFL fans are irate over Jon Gruden’s return to the NFL, with the former head coach being thrown a lifeline after his resignation a few years ago.
This week, a report from Jeff Duncan of The Times-Picayune/The New Orleans Advocate revealed that the Saints had brought Gruden in as an offensive consultant.
Gruden resigned from his position as Raiders head coach in 2021 after leaked emails showed that he had used homophobic, misogynistic, and racist slurs/tropes. So fans were not happy to find out he’s been given another opportunity to work in the NFL.

While Gruden hasn’t officially been hired by the Saints, fans simply aren’t having it.
As far as coaching goes, his input could be beneficial as he is very familiar with the team’s new quarterback Derek Carr, which is why they’ve gotten him on board for now.
The 59-year-old had two coaching stints with the Raiders and won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers between them. Mark Davis offered him a 10-year deal worth $100 million to return for his second spell but the Raiders would go 21-31 in his three seasons and change with the team.
Carr was the Raiders’ QB for all of Gruden’s second tenure in charge.
