The return of Jon Gruden?
Jon Gruden has been out of football since homophobic and racist emails were leaked to the media and ended his tenure with the Las Vegas Raiders in the middle of the 2021 season. He could now be making his way back.
More than two years after the controversy ended his run in the NFL, his name popped up again as related to another head coaching job in the NFL.
Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal recently put together a list of eight possible candidates to become the next head coach of the Raiders and somehow Gruden made the list.
According to Bonsignore, there are people around the NFL who believe there is a chance the league could allow the Raiders to re-hire Gruden if he decided to drop his lawsuit against them.
Jon Gruden filed his lawsuit against the NFL nearly two years ago where he accused the league of improperly leaking racist, sexist, and homophobic emails that Gruden sent when he was an ESPN announcer to force him to resign from the Raiders in 2021.

Gruden’s emails went from 2011 to 2018 to former Washington Commanders executive Bruce Allen and were found amid emails the league obtained during an investigation into the workplace culture of the Washington team.
He alleged disclosure of the emails destroyed his career and ruined endorsement contracts.
Gruden was the Raiders coach when the team moved in 2020 from Oakland, California, to Las Vegas.
