Could we finally see Jon Gruden’s return to the NFL?
The former head coach of the Raiders and Buccaneers has been the subject of comeback rumors before, and the latest has him possibly making a comeback with the New Orleans Saints.
While much of it is speculation, there have been rumors and reports linking Gruden the the offensive coordinator position in New Orleans.
Before anyone starts celebrating or complaining about Gruden’s potential comeback, Saints insider Nick Underhill decided to add some clarification to the situation.

This is not to say that Gruden can’t or won’t join the Saints. But there’s still plenty of steps that need to take place, including some sort of conclusion to his lawsuit against the NFL.
At the moment, the Saints are in the market for a new offensive coordinator, after firing Pete Carmichael, who held the role for an incredible 15 years.
Of course, Gruden has previously been linked to New Orleans, having worked with Derek Carr in the past, when both were members of the Raiders. Saints head coach Dennis Allen even brought Gruden in to help Carr and the offense last offseason.
Could the two sides look to make this partnership more concrete by installing Gruden as the new offensive coordinator? We should have our answer soon enough.
