We have officially seen the last of Jon Gruden as a head coach in the National Football League and possibly on any sports show going forward after he parted ways with the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday, following the release of more damning emails.
Gruden plans to resign as Las Vegas Raiders head coach after an explosive report in the New York Times revealed he used homophobic and misogynistic language in emails over a seven-year period. This news came just a few days after a first email leak revealed Gruden using racist language.
Gruden mocked the drafting of the first openly gay player in NFL history, criticized the emergence of women in the NFL as officials and called for the dismissal of players protesting the playing of the national anthem, according to the Times.
On ESPN, Adam Schefter summed it up pretty well when he said Gruden did a clean sweep of offending just about everybody.
Gruden was five games into the fourth season of a 10-year contract with the franchise, for which he previously coached in a prior stint.
