HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
During the 2019 NFL Draft, many expected the Denver Broncos to take a quarterback with one of their picks, but nobody thought they would wait until the 42nd overall pick to finally do it.
That decision partly has something to do with John Elway’s trust in Joe Flacco and his ability to get it done on the field of play.
The Broncos boss told Peter King of NBC’s Football Morning in America that what he’s seen in Flacco is enough for him to be patient in his QB position, which is why he waited to select Drew Lock in the second round.
“Our comfort with Joe enabled us to pass on a quarterback,” Elway said. “What made that decision is, Joe is fitting really well with what we want to do offensively, and he looked great in our minicamp last week. He really put on a throwing exhibition last week in camp.
Then, Elway made his most damning comment about Flacco:
“I truly think we’ve got a guy coming into his prime.”

Unfortunately for Elway, his comment doesn’t match-up with Flacco’s play on the field. The Baltimore Ravens only broke a three-year playoff drought and got going after he was injured and replaced with Lamar Jackson. That pretty much signaled the end of his tenure in B-More.
