Things continue to get worse and worse for the Los Angeles Chargers.
Superstar pass-rusher Joey Bosa suffered a foot injury in Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers and had to be carted off. In an update, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport announced that Bosa suffered a foot sprain and is likely headed to the IR, meaning he’ll be out a minimum of four games.
If Bosa indeed goes on the IR, that means he wouldn’t be able to return until Week 16 against the Buffalo Bills (Dec. 23) at earliest. The Chargers will visit the Denver Broncos in their Week 17 before wrapping up the regular season on Jan. 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chargers’ loss to Green Bay dropped them to 4-6 on the season, putting them two games out of the final playoff spot in the AFC. The Chargers’ D has struggled as a whole this year, and now they must try to get by without their best player.
The Bolts have been hit hard by the injury bug this year. Superstar wideout Mike Williams suffered a season-ending ACL tear in Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings, and do-it-all running back Austin Ekeler missed three games with an ankle sprain.
Bosa is having another excellent season with the Chargers, recording 6.5 sacks and one forced fumble in nine games. The 28-year-old as 67 career sacks in 93 games.
