One of the greatest NFL players of his era is going to give football coaching a try overseas.
Former Cleveland Browns’ Pro Bowl offensive lineman and Hall of Famer Joe Thomas announced in a video posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that he’ll be joining the coaching staff of the Munich Ravens, who play in the European League of Football (ELF).
In the video, Thomas expressed excitement to move over to Munich, Germany. The 38-year-old Thomas said that he’ll be working with the Ravens’ offensive line while also helping “recruit players”.
Thomas was the No. 3 selection in the dream 2007 NFL Draft class that provided a bevy of future superstars and Hall of Fame inductees. Thomas spent his entire career with Cleveland, which spanned from 2007 to 2016.
Incredibly, Thomas was named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first 10 professional seasons. The 2010s NFL All-Decade Team selection was also a six-time First-team All-Pro and a two-time Second-team All-Pro.
The longtime Browns’ legend and fan favorite announced his retirement after the 2017 season, where the Browns finished a historically bad 0-16. Thomas now works as an analyst at NFL Network.
