It has now been a solid two years since Colin Kaepernick last played in an NFL game following a season filled with him kneeling during the playing of the National Anthem.
Anybody with two working eyes could see that teams are steering clear of him because of that fact and the likely backlash they would receive from the fan base if they would decide to sign him to the team.
Joe Montana seems to think it’s something different than that.
The San Francisco 49ers legend recently had an interview with TheScore and was asked a simple question of whether Colin Kaepernick should be in the NFL.
He stated that, “49% completion gets him the same thing it got Tebow, out of the league.” Ouch!
If you think that comment came out of left field, it really shouldn’t be too much of a surprise since he stated something similar back in 2017 as to why Kaepernick wasn’t in the league.

“That style of quarterback, everybody thought was going to take over the NFL,” he told For The Win on Tuesday. “You look at guys who had success in college, that only had success one year. Usually those guys, the next year, it’s very difficult on them.
“The league has figured out how to defend it,” he continued. “If I’m playing defense, I want the quarterback to run so I can hit him. In the pocket, you can’t really hit him. So you look at Tim Tebow — he’s a great guy, does a lot of great things. But when you complete 40-something percent of your passes, even in the low 50s, you’re not going to make it.”
