An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for running back Joe Mixon. Court documents said Mixon threatened a woman with a gun last month. The woman alleges that Mixon pointed the firearm at the victim, stating, “You should be popped in the face, I should shoot you, the police can’t get me.”
The warrant states the incident occurred one day before the Bengals defeated the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs.
He faces the misdemeanor charge of aggravated menacing.
Bengals beat reporter Kelsey Conway reached out to Mixon for comment, but his mom answered and had a fiery response to the allegations.
“Did he do it, no he didn’t.”
Mixon is no stranger to trouble.

During his time at the University of Oklahoma, he was suspended from the team during the 2014 season for assaulting a woman at a restaurant. He alleged he was called a racial slur, which prompted him to use a anti-gay slur before the assault occurred.
Mixon was drafted by the Bengals in the second round of the 2017 NFL draft. He signed a four-year extension in 2020 worth $48 million and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2020.
