The Chicago Bears have done a remarkable job of making upgrades to their roster this offseason.
Having watched the team post a dismal 3-14 record in 2022, general manager Ryan Poles was under some pressure. But he’s handled it excellently and his moves have the Bears looking like they could be a force in the NFC North next season.
The franchise has been tipped to make even more additions before the start of the upcoming campaign, with Joe Mixon now thought to be one of them.
The Cincinnati Bengals could possibly move on from the player and are -150 to start the season with him, per Adam Thompson of Bookies.com. But the Bears are next in line with odds of +650.
“For multiple reasons, the Chicago Bears are part of nearly every player odds piece out there,” Thompson writes. “They not only have more cap space than any other team, [but] they also have more needs than just about any other team, hence their “earning” of the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Mixon would be RB1 on a Chicago offense lacking weapons.”
Two big-name running backs have already been released and are in search of new teams this offseason, with the Dallas Cowboys cutting Ezekiel Elliot and the Minnesota Vikings parting ways with Dalvin Cook. Should Mixon join them, the Bears could be an attractive destination as they still have the most cap space among NFL teams despite their many acquisitions.

While the player might be interested in moving to Chicago, it isn’t thought to be mutual. Still, the odds are the odds.
