Closing arguments were underway on Thursday in the aggravating menacing trial of Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon.
The Cincinnati Bengals running back was charged with aggravated menacing after being accused of pulling a gun on another driver downtown in a road rage incident back in January. He was fighting those charges in court after entering a not-guilty plea in April.
Mixon was accused of threatening a woman with a gun in a road rage incident. The alleged victim says Mixon told her, “You should be popped in the face. I should shoot you. The police can’t get me.”
The incident happened shortly before the Bengals left for a playoff game in Buffalo.
Mixon was ultimately found not guilty of aggravated menacing, a Hamilton County judge ruled Thursday.
Mixon reportedly smiled with relief and shook hands with his defense team. He had pleaded not guilty and faced up to 180 days in jail if convicted.

Mixon was represented by veteran defense attorneys Merlyn Shiverdecker and Scott Croswell.
In 14 games last season, Mixon rushed for 814 yards and seven touchdowns.
The Bengals went to their second-straight AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs but would lose this time around. Mixon only had eight carries for 19 yards on the ground.
