Joe Mixon is again the subject of a legal battle as the Cincinnati Bengals running back is now facing a lawsuit over the shooting incident that took place near his home back in March, according to FOX19.
Mixon was not at the scene at the time of the occurrence but his brother-in-law, Lamonte Brewer, is believed to have used a rifle belonging to the NFL star to fire at a group of teenagers playing with Nerf guns near his property.
Brewer has also been named in the suit following the shooting that left one teenager nursing injuries.
The suit, filed by the parents of the injured teen, claims that Mixon should have been aware of Brewer’s criminal record and past violent behavior yet still armed him with a rifle and ammunition.
It states that the RB “knowingly provided the assault rifle and ammunition to Lamonte Brewer, fully understanding the potential harm that an individual armed with an assault rifle could inflict.”
The claimants are citing negligence on Mixon’s part and emotional distress on theirs.

Mixon was not charged criminally as he was not around at the time. But his sister, Shalonda Mixon, and Brewer, her boyfriend, have both been indicted.
