The New York Giants have finally wrapped up a very disappointing 2021 season, and it ended with the offense struggling mightily under rookie quarterback Jake Fromm. In fact, in the second quarter of their Week 18 matchup with the Washington Football Team, Joe Judge’s offense decided they were going to QB sneak on 2-straight plays.
Facing a second-and-11 from their own 2-yard line, Fromm sneaked up the middle for a gain of two yards. On the next play, Giants again ran a quarterback sneak — on third-and-9!
After the game, head coach Joe Judge was asked about the decision. Per Giants beat writer Zack Rosenblatt, “… Judge said he ran those two QB sneaks deep in their own territory because he wanted to create space for when they punted it on fourth down.”
Fromm, making his second start, completed 15-of-31 passes for 103 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Saquon Barkley, putting the exclamation point on his terrible season, rushed for just 30 yards on 11 carries.
