Joe Flacco is the unlikely hero of Cleveland.
About three weeks ago, Joe Flacco was not a part of an NFL roster. He was tuned into the league, watching games from home. Now he has the chance to lead this team that lost Deshaun Watson for the year into the playoffs and actually play a game or two.
On Monday morning, former player Ryan Clark actually revealed that Flacco tried out and auditioned for ‘Inside The NFL,’ but they chose to pass on him. It turns out that was a great move.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski made a big decision that will impact the rest of the Browns’ season going forward. Shortly following his team’s 31-27 win over the Jaguars, the Browns’ coach was asked if Joe Flacco would be Cleveland’s starting quarterback for the rest of the season.
“Yes,” Stefanski said.

Flacco seems happy in Cleveland. He said he felt “like a 10-year-old again” after the huge win and the Browns have a good shot at the playoffs.
On Sunday, the quarterback led the Browns to a 31-27 win over the Jaguars in his home debut, while completing 57.8% of his passes for 311 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.
Flacco became the Browns’ first quarterback with three touchdown passes of 30 yards or more in a single game since Brian Sipe did it in 1980, according to ESPN Stats and Info.
After 14 weeks of games, the Cleveland Browns have an 85% chance of making the playoffs, according to the data team at the New York Times. The Browns have solidified themselves as the top wild card team and a 38-year-old is leading them.
