Joe Flacco is now the NFL’s biggest story after helping the Cleveland Browns seal a spot in the playoffs with a win over the New York Jets that was easy enough for him to sleep through on Thursday night.
Flacco has gone 4-1 since joining the Browns as a replacement for Deshaun Watson and has led an unlikely charge with a squad teeming with injuries. He even has them within a shot of winning the AFC North.
He’s getting paid handsomely for it too, per OutKick.
The veteran quarterback is earning a base salary of $1.8 million on a one-year deal, with an extra $4.05 million available in incentives.
He’s been doing his best to take everything off the table..
Wins over the Houston Texans, Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Jets have earned him an extra $300,000, with each victory netting him $75,000. A win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18 will secure another $75K.

There’s still more money to be had where Joe’s concerned. He can earn another $250K for a wild-card win while a positive result in the divisional round will add $500,000 to his coffers. There’s an additional $1 million available for winning the ACF Championship Game while a Super Bowl win will net him $2 million.
Of course, that’s a lot to ask for. But who thought the Browns would have gone on such a run after all the injuries they’ve had to deal with?
