Joe Exotic (real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage), who rose to fame in 2020 following the release of Netflix’s “Tiger King” documentary, is seeking help from Cincinnati Bengals’ star quarterback Joe Burrow to help him get out of prison.
Joe Exotic is serving a 21-year prison sentence over convictions of aimal abuse and a murder-for-hire plot to have Big Cat Rescue CEO Carole Baskin (who also starred in the “Tiger King” series) killed.
On his X (formerly known as Twitter) account, Joe Exotic penned a letter to Burrow and asked for $20,000 to hire attorneys. In the letter, Joe Exotic also proposed the idea of working together with Burrow “to stop animals from being in a cage.”
The former LSU Tigers’ star previously stated that he’s “anti-animal in cage.” The school’s official mascot, Mike the Tiger, is a real tiger that is kept in his own home on campus.
“Tiger King” became one of the most-watched and popular documentaries on Netflix following its release in March 2020. Tens of millions of viewers tuned in to watch the show during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused lockdowns across the world.

Money certainly wouldn’t be an issue for Burrow if he decided to help “Joe Exotic” out. The first overall pick of 2020 just signed a new five-year deal worth $275 million that makes him the new highest-paid player in NFL history, after all.
